Tattoo - Visual Art Form
Here we are blogging from Japan. We are having a mandatory rest day here in Yokohama. Matt is a little worse for wear after two days of tattooing and I have hurt my back somehow. Which has given me time to do a mammoth post. Anyways, I can't whinge because that's just not allowed from Japan!

First off is Progression Tattoo News:

Stu will be leaving us and heading back to the UK at some stage in the next few months. So if you have ongoing work by him, you need to get onto it and get it finished pronto or your going to be traveling all the way to sunny England to finish it!

Ryan Reeve will begin full time with us from February 19th. He does lovely tattoos, awesome script and is an all round super duper fella! We are lucky to have him! He is already taking bookings, so just do the usual, send us an email to progressiontattoo@hotmail.com and Ryan can sort out appointments before he gets here in Feb.

Here is some of Rad Ryan's work:

We also have a bunch more guest artists coming again in the next few months. Here is a list of who is definitely coming and their dates. We have a few more guests possibly coming too but we are just waiting on sorting out exact dates etc But I will do another post again when we can get more dates locked down.

First up is Mitch Love and Malika Rose (from Westside in Brisbane): They will be doing a few days here and there over the Christmas and New Years period. Both are nearly booked up already, so better be quick! You need to contact them directly to enquire about dates and bookings: For Mitch email mitchlovetattoo@gmail.com and for Malika email, malikarosetattoo@gmail.com

Here is some of Hori Mitchy's work:

And the lovely Malika Softshellcrabs work:

Our lovely mates Wendy Pham and Matthew Gordon will be with us for 2 whole weeks before we loose them to Berlin :(, where they will be going to work with some other lovely legends Allan and Amalie at Conspiracy Inc. Now's your chance to get tattooed by these awesome people before we could loose them forever (sniff sniff), don't miss out! They will be in Adelaide working at Progression from 22nd Jan to 2nd of Feb. Email Wendy at wendy_p@live.com.au and email Matt at Matthewgordon@live.com.au

Here is some of Gary Oldmans (Matthew Gordon's) awesomeness:

And Wendy The Noodle Queen's lovely works:

Our good ol buddy Alvaro Flores will be with us again Monday 4th of Feb to Friday 8th of Feb. He has two small spots opened up for just 2-3 hour tattoos, be quick, he won't be back until April! Speaking of which he may also have 1 or 2 spots left for his April visit (Monday 1st of April to Thursday 4th of April). Email progressiontattoo@hotmail.com (please include what you want to get and where and I can take his bookings).

Here's some of our cuzzy Alvaro's sickness:

And we are very excited to have someone new coming into town (new to visiting us that is, not new to tattooing of course). Alex Rusty Cairns (From Lighthouse Tattoo- Sydney). Please email our good mate direct mail@alexrusty.com or progressiontattoo@hotmail.com

Here is some of Rusty Trombones work:

As for merch, I am doing an order tomorrow. So if you want a crew neck (aka jumper, jersey, pull over or whatever you want to call it) nows the time to email me (I am not ordering a lot of extras and this may be the last print run of these ones). T-shirts I might get a few extras but might be worth shooting me an email so I definitely get one for you. Crews are $60, T's are $30, plus postage ($10 within Australia, International I will have to find out- shoot me your addy in the email).

Still have a few prints left too (they are signed and limited to only 20). The dragons are $60 each or if you want both $100, they look great as a pair. Plus postage of course ($15 Australia, international no idea- shoot me your addy in the email)

Oni Print is still up for grabs. They are limited to 10 only, we only have a few left. $30, plus postage ($15 Australia and international- send me your address).

And so we have recently returned from the New Plymouth Tattoo & Art Festival in New Zealand and we had an awesome time! The convention was probably one of the most organised and well put together conventions we have ever been to! Thanks to Brent Taylor and crew, they did such an amazing job! So we are definaitely going again next year! Here are some pics from our week in Hobitt country:

Hori Mitchy and Matty D Deverson- booth 103
Matty hard at it
Day 1, outlined and black shading done!
Day 2. Still at it
Done, 1/2 sleeve in 2 days. Well done to Tony, who was an absolutely legend and sat like a champ!

Great weekend with great friends!
I'll say it once and I'll say it again, we love NZ!
Ok, was going to post more about Japan but that will have to be a separate blog, as this has already taken me forever and Japan probably deserves it's own post.

That's all....
