The 3 Most Important Things Before Securing Your Dream Job

To secure that “dream job” you need a winning strategy. This strategy is the 3-prong timeless strategy, which I have termed, the “3R” strategy.

The first “R” is to research the company and yourself so you can engage the panel intelligently and confidently. The second “R” is torehearse;rehearse what you have researched that is relevant to the interview. This leads to the third “R” which is to replicate all that you have rehearsed when you eventually get on the “hot seat.”

Research

Before you go on a job interview, it’s important to find out as much as you can about the company. A properly conducted research equips you with better insights about the company, enables you to assess the company and identifies the need or gap the organization has that you can meet with your skills.

The next thing to do is toresearch yourself; identify your 5-Star Point Approach (5-SPA), which is a list of your key skills and accomplishments. Identify also your strengths and weaknesses using a simple tool called the SWOT analysis, which is an acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.

Here are some of the ways to research the company:

Visit the Company Website

Visit the About Us section of the company’s website, review the company’s mission statement and history, as well as information about the company’s values, management, products and services.

Use Professional Network Websites

Check the company’s profile on professional network websites such as LinkedIn; they are a good way to find more information on a company you’re interested in. You’ll be able see your connections at the company, new hires, promotions, jobs posted, related companies, and company statistics.

Use of Social Media

It is recommended that you become a fan of the company on social media platforms like Facebook and Yookos, and follow it also on Yookos or Twitter. You’ll find information especially on current events in and around the company that you may not have found otherwise.

Search Engines

Several Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo etc., and their news platforms have valuable information on companies−−use them.

To be concluded…

Share with friends.
