As the 9th of November - Carl Sagan Day - comes to a close, a couple thoughts come to mind: 1) we have a whole year to figure out how to convince Google to create a Google Doodle for Carl Sagan Day (#SaganGoogleDoodle); and 2) next year will be the fifth annual Springfield (IL) Guy Fawkes Night.
Given that the celebration will be the big V, we're going to have to do something extra special. I already have a few ideas, and I have a whole year to think of more. This year's Guy Fawkes Night was a success, and a lot of fun. All the pictures are in an album on my Facebook profile. Here's the link: Guy Fawkes Night 2012. Below are some of the pictures of the event:
The Guy Fawkes Wreath which hung on the front door.
The burning of the Guy Fawkes effigy.
The Guy Fawkes effigy, aka "Little Guido" and me. Yes, Guido's wearing a "Team Mario" shirt.
The Brainsaw (who makes the effigy each year), me, and Jenni.
The traditional masked group photo.
Here's to next year!
