Barcelona were banned by FIFA from signing players for the next two transfer periods (summer 2014 and January 2015).
FIFA has announced that the transfer ban on Barcelona Football Club has been suspended until a final decision on the club’s appeal has been made.
According to Goal.com and the Barcelona website, the Catalan club will henceforth go ahead with all transfer negotiations until a final decision on the appeal.
Barcelona were banned by FIFA from signing players for the next two transfer periods (summer 2014 and January 2015) for breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee regarded the infringements as serious and decided to sanction the club with a transfer ban at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods. The club was also fined CHF450,000 (€369,000).
However, Barcelona issued a lengthy statement in which they defended their conduct and outlined their determination to fight the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
