InkFest Live is changing the face of the tattoo industry with a new approach to tattoo events. Not just another tattoo convention, Inkfest Live is a thrilling Urban Tattoo Expo that caters to a whole new generation of tattoo artists and enthusiasts. InkFest's first event in Charlotte, NC May 28 - 30, 2010 proved to be a huge success with thousands of tattoo lovers in attendance.

"We designed the InkFest Live Tour to capture the current trends and lifestyle of the tattoo and body art industry," says Ragen St. Peter, Marketing Director for InkFest Live. "This is a booming industry driven by a new breed of tattoo artists. InkFest Live reflects the pulse of today's urban street scene."

The three-day event was highlighted by performances from award-winning rap stars Three 6 Mafia, and other A-List acts such as Kill Butterfly and Carolina Villainz.

Other entertainment on tap at InkFest Live included BMX stunt riders, show cars, break dancing, graffiti artists, tattoo contests and much more.

George Galindo Best Tattoo of the Day AwardGeorge Galindo – owner and premier tattoo artist at House of Pain in El Paso, TX – said the event was totally different than anything he's ever seen. And, George has been tattooing for 15 years and typically appears at one or two tattoo conventions every month.

"InkFest Live in Charlotte was incredibly refreshing. The booths were set up with chain link fence, not the old-school drape and table type of thing. They created an exciting atmosphere throughout the entire exhibit space. Plus, every time you turned around something new was going off," Galindo revealed. "It had a great vibe, like Run DMC meets Lil Wayne. I think this is going to snowball into something really big."

Galindo took home two awards from the Charlotte, NC event including a Best Tattoo of the Day and Best Black and Grey Portrait. Galindo was so impressed by the atmosphere at InkFest Live, he has committed to show at the remainder of the 2010 InkFest Live Tour.

"It's not easy to keep 100 tattoo artists happy. We all think we're prima donnas when we get out there on the road," Galindo said. "But, the team that put InkFest Live together did an incredible job of planning and creating a new concept that totally fits today's tattoo scene." The next stop on the 2010 InkFest Live Tour will be July 23 - 25, 2010 in the Bay Area at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA . Tickets, booth space and sponsorships for the Bay Area and other upcoming InkFest Live events can be purchased at www.InkFestLive.com.
