This three-day event captures the heart of today's urban street scene.
"We're preparing for more than 10,000 people to attend," says Ragen St. Peter, Marketing Director for InkFest Live. "This event captures the current lifestyle of the tattoo and body art industry. It's entirely designed to appeal to a new generation of tattoo artists and enthusiasts."
The list of world-renowned tattoo artists includes Chuey Quintnar from Goodtime Charlie's Tattooland in Anaheim, CA; Paris Pierides, owner of Paris Tattoos now in Charlotte, NC; George Galindo from House of Pain Tattoo in El Paso, TX; Steve Huntsberry of Immortal Images Tattoo in Charlotte, NC; and The InkFather from Outsiders Ink in Tulsa, OK. Many more of the nation's best shops and artists will have booth space at InkFest Live.
The highlight in entertainment comes Saturday, May 29th with a live appearance from Three 6 Mafia, featuring DJ Paul and Juicy "J". Three 6 Live takes credit for a host of gold and platinum singles, and they have produced for platinum rappers such as Ludacris and UGK. They are also the only rap act ever to win an Oscar, awarded for Best Original Song in 2006 for It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp.
Three 6 Mafia will perform cuts from their latest masterpiece, Laws of Power which takes the listener on a rollercoaster ride through the highs and lows of urban life.
According to DJ Paul, "Every song on Laws of Power is a law. We're explaining the laws of drinking, partying and snitching."
Other top acts performing at the Inkfest Live kickoff in Charlotte include Kill Butterfly, June 5th, and Carolina Villainz.
