The Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, said the arrest of the suspects was made possible by a written request received from the Consulate General of Italy in Lagos to carry out investigations on the 40 suspects who submitted fake and forged documents to Italian Embassy in a bid to travel out of the country.
According to him, “it has now become rampant for unscrupulous Nigerians to desire travelling out of the country through dubious means.

Ogunsakin also said the network of crooks that specialised in travel document racketeering had been shattered and will soon face the courts.
