I don't have a Wookiee mask. My Darth Vader mask must suffice.
November is pretty big month in my part of the 'verse. Guy Fawkes Night, Carl Sagan Day, and today, World Wide Wookiee Life Day. As I explained before on Dead-Logic's Liturgical Calendar, my "Holy Week" is October 31 (Halloween) through November 9 (Carl Sagan Day), with just a short break until we hit Wookiee Life Day. And with Krampusnacht right around the corner (December 6), we have plenty of excuses to celebrate.
What better reason to celebrate than the Krampus?
Today is World Wide Wookiee Life Day, which finds its genesis in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, which aired on CBS November 17, 1978. According to Wookieepedia: "Life Day was a Wookiee holiday celebrated by the inhabitants of Kashyyyk every three years. It was a celebration of the planet's diverse ecosystem and the many forms of life it encompassed. It also was a time to remember family members who had died, and the young ones who continued to bring new life to a family."
Life Day is a day of peace and harmony. So, wherever you are, and whatever other life forms happen to be dwelling among you, may you all exist together in peace and happiness.
