One of my friends on Facebook who shall remain unnamed here shared this photo of a "defaced" dollar bill, along with the following message originally posted by some guy named Ron Lang, Jr. This "urgent" message, along with the conversation it started on my Facebook friend's wall, left me speechless...
Where do I start? Notice how outraged they are. Someone dared to put their god on our money! That raises an interesting question: "In God We Trust." Which god? Of course, these folks would say the Christian god, because "this is a Christian nation," but then that raises an even more interesting question: "In God We Trust." Who is "we"? If "god" is the Christian god then "we" must be Christians only. So... whoever put this "blasphemy" on our Christian currency must not be a "real american." Sorry Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, ninjas, the severely mentally retarded, babies, atheists, gays, pagans, pro-choicers, evolutionists, secular humanists, and whoever else doesn't believe in the Christian god or has been judged unworthy by these "Real Christians." Guess you've got no place here in the god-fearing United States of America. Try Canada. Don't let the American flag hit you on the ass on the way out.
I mean, seriously, "muzzies"? I was expecting to see "camel jockey" next. For the sake of argument, let's say Jesus is "the way and the truth and the life" and no one can get saved unless they put their faith in Jesus. Muslims, then, would need to change their beliefs. Do we see compassion for "the lost sheep" from these Christians? Do we see concern that the gospel message gets delivered with love and compassion to those who are going to hell? Hell. No. We see judgment. We see scorn. We see ridicule. We see prejudice. We see nothing but an attempt to make Muslims angry. What else would saying "Allah is a dog" accomplish? These "Real Christians" are one step away from joining the KKK.
"Allah is make believe. Hehehehe." It's so easy to ridicule someone else's beliefs. It's a lot harder to look in a mirror. She's so confident that "Allah is make believe" yet she gets indignant when someone questions her god. If someone were to say "Jesus is make believe" she'd shit a chicken. But what more evidence does Miss Christian have to justify believing in her preferred deity? Yeah...
Whenever reason is abandoned for faith, we are put in danger. Here we have a group of religionists insulting an entire people group, threatening to destroy money (whether it's a joke or not, someone out there would take it seriously), and working to turn our country into a theocracy that keeps "infidels" out. Compassion, courtesy, dignity, respect, common sense and critical thinking have been cast aside.
